This living room didn’t reflect the client’s young, modern sensibility and she hated it. The furniture was inherited and outdated, and the artwork simply took up wall space. We decided to give the room a completely new look, opting to keep only the paint color.
The client’s dog liked to nap here, so we chose a sofa with washable slipcovers. Then, we anchored the seating area with two peacock blue leather chairs and two cowhide chairs. We found the coffee table in the basement and moved it upstairs to create a collected feel, since everything else was new. The mirror comes from Wisteria, the console table from Pottery Barn. A bold ikat rug from Company C becomes the “art” in the room. Colorful pillows, silver accents, and simple sheer window treatments complete this eclectic, contemporary space.
