I've used another designer in the past who I thought was amazing but had subsequently moved away so I was looking for someone to fill her shoes. I found a company out of Denver to help with a few small things but was less than impressed. When we purchased a large and intensive project I knew I needed to find someone great. I would highly recommend Susan at restyle design as we couldn't be happier with our kitchen remodel and changes to our family room. When my wife and I made the decision to move forward with the remodel, we knew if we wanted to stay married that we would need to work with a designer who could bring our sometimes varying desires into one cohesive design, and also help us navigate the myriad of choices that would have to be made. We identified three potential designers through Houzz, and we were immediately sold on Susan based upon her design ideas, and her approach. She has an ability to actively listen and map your ideas, likes, dislikes to a design that fits your style. She is conscientious of costs and overall budget, and is flexible in providing varying options within a design as well as approach to the decision making process. One of the things that we appreciated the most was during our first meeting she asked us if we would prefer to go to each store (appliances, tile, counter tops, etc) and she would guide us through decisions, or if we would like her to narrow things down in each category to 2-3 items, bring us samples and we could select from there knowing that if we didn't like something she would bring a few more items forward the next time. Based on our discussions with her, we were confident in her abilities to bring us 2-3 items in each category, and we were not disappointed. In fact, I believe this saved a significant amount of time in the project and headaches, angst and stress for my wife. We initially planned on simply utilizing Susan for the design portion, but after discussions we happily had her manage the entire project from beginning to end. There were hiccups along the way, which we expected with a project of this scope, but Susan handled them extremely well and utilized her experience and relationships to minimize them and ensure work was done appropriately and as efficiently as possible. We'd never worked with a designer before, but we knew we'd need lots of help when moving from a 1,000 square foot house to a 5,000 square foot house. We started from zero and, with Susan's help, built a new vision that fits our style just right! We initially hired Susan in the autumn of 2016, and over the past 8 months, she's helped us find almost an entire house's worth (7 rooms so far) of furniture—along with custom pillows and rugs, as well as coordinating contractors for painting, floor refinishing, and a few small remodeling jobs. Susan's communication skills are excellent, and we really appreciated how she worked interactively with us using Google Slides to share ideas and virtually move around and try different types of furniture in our new home. My husband and I are so pleased with the expertise and support we have gotten from Susan. We moved to a new city this past March and found Susan right away to work with us as we built our new home. She was instrumental in helping guide the selection of building materials (wood flooring, carpeting, cabinetry, tile, tub, faucets, etc.). Susan worked well with our builder; she guided us through the selection of fabrics, window treatments, lighting, furniture and decor. She has a large variety of support craftsmen/craftswomen for woodworking, draperies, etc. that she can call on to do custom work. Susan has an excellent eye for what will work, she had lots of suggestions (but not so many that it was overwhelming) and she has an excellent ear to listen to our vision for our home. The final look will definitely have a cohesiveness that my husband and I couldn't have possibly pulled off on our own. Additionally, when it comes to logistics, Susan took a load off of us by being a project manager. Susan's very organized and kept up with all of the details on a major project like ours. She communicates well and returns calls and emails promptly. And, we particularly like that, although we have our ideas, she's not afraid to suggest alternatives if what we are thinking needs some revision. But, she's so gracious about it that we have appreciated her input. Lastly, she's sensitive to value so that what we purchased makes sense. We were able to determine when "to splurge" and when to "be more modest without cutting corners" so that the look is awesome but it's all within budget. As we are heading into the closing months of this build, design, and decor, our house is becoming our home. I was embarking on a total kitchen, guest bath, family and game room renovation and although I had ideas of what I wanted, I needed help pulling those ideas together and coming up with a final concept. Susan helped us come up with a beautiful and functional design by looking over my idea books and making suggestions based on those ideas. She met with us and our cabinet manufacturer to come up with the right plan, then helped us make final choices for tile, accents, carpets, LVT and paint colors. Over the past three years Susan Kosonocky advised my wife and me about the overall interior design for the kitchen, living and dining rooms, and three bathrooms in our house in the Landings area of Fort Collins. Once we made the necessary choices of the design, materials, fabrics and colors for the work, she supervised the implementation of the projects from start to finish by workmen of her recommendation. Most of the implementation work took place while we were away (six months at our house in France) and the work--and our house--placed entirely in her care. My wife and I have had experience working with interior designers on other residences in New York (Manhattan), Cincinnati, and France. We have good familiarity with their professional capabilities and competences. Frankly, we begin to exhaust our supply of superlatives when we talk about Susan. She has it all. She has exquisite good taste (no doubt the reason why she was chosen as a buyer for Bloomingdale's at a prior point in her life), but her special talent is in matching her good taste to the preferences and needs (including budgetary) of her clients. We've never met a designer who could do this so well. She has an amazing "knack" in finding the design layout, fabric (for sofa and drapes), kitchen counter material, floor tile, wall color that meets the client's own tastes and needs. She is resourceful in presenting a manageable range of options without confusing or distracting the client, she suggests without being domineering but in the end she lets the client decide without being intrusive. We are at times simply wowed by her creativity within the bounds of good taste and practicality. She carries interior decorating to a fine art. Susan also manages projects through to their successful completion. Our confidence in her was well placed as we put our house in her hands in the summer of 2014, when we replaced our kitchen floor tile, installed granite counter tops, and renovated three baths. The work was done--by her suggested workmen--in an exceptionally competent and professional manner. Upon our return from France, when we questioned a floor tile that appeared to be ever-so-slightly different from the surrounding tiles, she immediately had her workman come to replace it at no cost to us. She is a perfectionist in every positive sense of that word. Susan is high-energy, pro-active, dynamic, smart, and talented, a good listener who gets things right the first time, confidence-inspiring but always personable, professional and deferential to her clients. Head and shoulders above any other professional we've ever dealt with in her field. We had our master bathroom completely remodeled, including displacing a seldom-used jetted tub to make room for a larger shower, and a vanity. With all the decisions to be made in such an endeavor, Susan became a trusted consultant. She spent time understanding our particular preferences and provided helpful suggestions along that line. We never felt pushed toward more expensive options or unnecessary extras. The light fixtures, granite, tile, cabinetry, etc. have been a great fit with the rest of our house, and the contractor she recommended was excellent. All materials were high quality and were delivered on time for the project. Susan has a solid knowledge of local and distant vendors. Rather than go to the cost of replacing our staircase, Susan recommended we paint our railing an ebony black, the balusters white and our front door black, it completely transformed our entry and was very economical - looks amazing! When we moved within town last summer, I enlisted the help of a local designer, Susan Kosonocky, to help me change up our color scheme. We went from primarily reds and golds to yellows, greens and blues. This was Susan's idea and I absolutely LOVE these colors together.
